- Summary ➢The year is 1863, and in Kyoto, Japan, Kyujuro Fukakusa (Tomoya Oku) lives a modest life working with his father at a small teahouse. One fateful night, they grant refuge to a desperate samurai but a rival samurai soon bursts into the teahouse, killing Kyujuro’s father in the process. Devastated, Kyujuro vows to avenge his father’s death by joining a samurai training academy to master the art of the sword. However, gaining access to the academy is a formidable challenge, as his fellow applicants are experienced warriors. Among them is Daisaku Kamagiri (Kentaro Maeda), the most skilled and fearsome swordsman. Determined to succeed and seek revenge, Kyujuro faces relentless trials and fierce rivals. Will he rise to the challenge and avenge his father’s death? This 2024 Japanese drama series was based on a manga series by Osamu Tezuka and was directed by Hayato Kawai.
