- Summary ➢Yoshinaga Fumi’s popular manga What Did You Eat Yesterday? about the daily lives and dinner table of a middle-aged gay couple was first adapted into a TV series in 2019. Aired on TV Tokyo, the foodie slice-of-life series star Nishijima Hidetoshi as meticulous and frugal lawyer Kakei Shiro who is good at cooking. Uchino Seiyo plays his cohabiting partner Yabuki Kenji, who is a hair stylist. Following the TV series and a 2020 one-episode TV special, Shiro and Kenji’s story and cooking continue on the silver screen in the What Did You Eat Yesterday? .
Shiro (Nishijima Hidetoshi) suggests a trip to Kyoto as a birthday present for Kenji (Uchino Seiyo). However, because of this trip, the two are not able to reveal their hearts to each other.
